academic year 18/19

new projects, new partners, more challenges!

Watering plants with Great Grandad

We are working locally with Paradise Co-operative, TTT, Natural Thinkers, LEEF and Share Nurseries and nationally with RHS, Groundwork and Kew Gardens co-delivering various programmes such as the Orchard  Project and Pollinator Paths.

Raised beds assembly - Rutherford House

17/18 was focused  on creating a network across Wandsworth and Lambeth to run outdoor learning classes in local schools – culminating in our Outdoor Learning Conference in June.   This year we will build on these foundations by organising half-termly gardening workshops for local school garden leaders.

Ongoing projects include:

Continuing our work at Rutherford House School (funded by the Mayor of London;

Developing an outdoor learning programme at Floreat Wandsworth, for which we also hope to obtain external funding;

Delivering gardening workshops in other schools and local communities through new concepts:

  • “3G Gardening” which will engage 3 generations using old experience and youthful energy to re-connect people of all ages with nature

  • “Seasonal changes and mathematics” – KS1 science and maths workshops based on seasonal patterns
