Annual programmes

We have a number of programmes to fit in with your needs and requirements. We recommend these annual programmes to maximise learning and garden maintenance opportunities.

We can also deliver one-off workshops as tasters or full community gardening days. Please ring us for more information about exact details.

All programmes are based on £45/hour rate and a 36 week academic year.

Weekly

5 hours per week (£8,100 for 36 weeks)

  • Setting up an annual gardening plan

  • Regular workshops with children to fit in with seasonal topics as well as specific school requirements. Workshops can be with the whole class or smaller groups of pupils depending on the age of children and complexity of the task

  • We also offer 1 to 1 sessions with children with SEND or special requirements (these sessions are child-led and very hands-on using various natural materials available in the garden).  These should be planned as at least 12-weekly programmes (5 hours per week) to maximise the effects of outdoor learning and relaxation

  • Garden maintenance - can be arranged as a regular session with science lead or school building manager to maximise the learning and long term sustainability of the project

  • Co-ordination of RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) membership for Campaign for School Gardening - this can allow school to access a lot of free materials and resources

  • Teacher Training - to be agreed with school to fit with INSET days or after school training hours

Half-termly

6 times per year - recommended for continuity of learning (£1,350 for 6 weeks)

Community Gardening

6 times per year (£1,350 for 6 sessions)

  • 5 hours (1 prep, 1 set up, 2 workshop/workday, 1 tidy up)

  • Community gardening sessions are an excellent way to maximise gardening and maintenance hours in your garden - we will lead the session, bring tools and materials; you invite parent/community volunteers to help out with their skills and time.

  • Great way to spend time with family and friends and an opportunity to get to know each other outside the school hours!

Garden Design and Construction

  • Garden Construction - The cost of setting up a school garden / outdoor classroom will usually vary between £4,000 and £20,000. This depends on the size of the space and project complexity.

  • Please call us for more information about possible solutions. The first consultation is free and includes a site visit to advise you on the best way forward

Funding Advice/Lead

Our first visit to your school or community space is free. If you would like us to advise or lead a funding application it will cost between £200 and £500 depending on type of grant and size of the project.

Summer Maintenance/Tidy up/Watering

6 weeks of up to 2 hours each (based on the size of the garden, up to £540)

Leave your garden with us to see it fresh and ready for learning in September.

If your school/organisation has any other requirements that are not listed above please talk to us so that we can work on a tailor made programme specific to your needs.
